General Rules

• Calico County is a serious RP community and requires all players to be over the age of 18. As such, you also cannot play as a character who’s a minor. 18+ across the board!

• All players should remain in character at all times when in game, and focus on maintaining the highest quality roleplay with others. If you do need to go OOC, please resolve the issue quickly and get back to IC conversation as quickly as possible.

• When CAN you go OOC?

  • If an admin asks you to

  • For a brief teaching moment to help a new player

  • In a remote location away from other players’ RP scenarios

  • With full consent from all parties - please don’t spring OOC on someone mid-scene! “May I speak from my imagination for a moment?...”

• Calico County has zero tolerance for racist, homophobic, sexist, or other prejudiced language or content. Harassment of any kind will not be permitted.

• Character Creation

  • Keep in mind the 1889 timeframe for your character’s names, appearances, and mannerisms. Make sure your behavior and interactions are realistic to the time period!

  • You cannot play as a canon character from the RDR universe, from other franchises or popular culture, nor any historical figures. Let’s keep the immersion stable!

  • While the server uses the game engine from RDR2, Calico County is not set inside the RDR storyline. Don’t bring RDR characters or stories into Calico County RP. (for example, saying “Oh, the Marston ranch!” vs “That ranch just outside Blackwater!”)

  • While we’re set in 1889, we’re playing in 2023. Refrain from any ‘-isms’ of the time that might have been prevalent then, but are harmful to players behind the keyboard.

• RDM on other players, NPCs, and animals will not be tolerated and will result in a 2-day ban for first offense. All kills should be sensible in-character reactions to situations.

• Vehicle Deathmatching (horse or wagon) is never permitted.

• You should never leave the server or respawn in the middle of an RP situation. Do not revive/respawn/disconnect during an active scene unless it’s instructed by another party.

• Hacking, glitching, and exploiting are not permitted on this server under any circumstances.

• Global and Local Chat are not to be used for chit-chat by players. Please utilize /alertadmin, /alertdoctor or /alertpolice and the appropriate party will respond in the chat when en route to you. If you have questions, please use the Discord.
