Property Rules
While Scenes may be placed on properties throughout the county, if you do not own the property yourself you must remove the scene within 48 hours of placement. All scenes must adhere to server rules - no harassment, must be appropriate for all audiences, etc.
While occupying public spaces or available buildings as you RP is OK, if you don’t own a property, you may not gate keep it from others’ use. (ex: Patios on no-door properties in town, available houses that haven’t been bought, game-generated camp areas)
Any purchased properties on which a Legendary Hunt spawn point exists are not permitted to be gatekept. While it’s OK to RP around someone on your property, you may not, in the end, block them from access to that hunt, as it is a game mechanic we want to keep accessible to all.
In keeping with our conflict initiation rules, you may not post a ‘trespassers will be shot’ sign on your property and consider that an appropriate warning. Kill-On-Sight is not permitted on your properties - all players must still RP it out!
Purchasing Houses:
Buildings that are able to be walked into (openable doors) are eligible for purchase as home property. If you have a property in mind, please fill out the Calico Realtor form with screenshots of the map location, and a Realtor will be in contact with you to discuss pricing and arrange for purchase.
Purchasing Businesses:
Business License applications are filled out via the Realtor Form, including information on who will own it, staff it, and maintain inventory.
While it’s impossible for any set of players to run a business 24/7, we do expect that inventories will be stocked and a member of the business team will be online for a majority of our server’s peak playtime.
Purchasing Hideouts:
Hideouts can only be placed on a locked door that is able to be accessed by the public.
Players may not place hideout entrances within locked areas (like inside of player homes)
Hideouts are able to be raided by law enforcement when the owning player is online. The player will get an on-screen notification when the raid begins.
If Hideouts are placed in an invalid location, Admins will delete it without refund.
All conflict initiation rules still apply in the situation of a Hideout raid. The entrance area to the hideout is not an appropriate conflict zone; it can be used for negotiation but gunfights must utilize the rooms themselves. Players cannot be shot directly in the entrance, regardless of which side they’re on.
To purchase a hideout; use the Calico Country Realtor Form.
Purchasing Camps:
Camps are purchasable via vendor in Blackwater - you’ll purchase a flag, which then allows you to drop a location for your Camp. You can invite other players to a posse (the script calls it a ‘clan’) and you’ll all be able to purchase items / place items within that Camp space. This works similarly to what you might expect from RDO.
Place your Camps with respect. Ensure they are outside of town limits, not overlapping roads or other key access points for players, and do not place Camps on other players’ owned property without their express consent / membership in your posse.
Purchasing Outfitter Items:
The Outfitter is a vendor in Valentine that allows characters to place props for use in their RP scenes.
Just as with camps, Outfitter items must be placed with respect for others’ RP. Outfitter items must be placed outside of town limits, without blocking roads or other key access points for players, and items may not be placed on other players’ owned property without their express consent.
Since Outfitter items are intended for use in scenes, please ensure you use the /outfitter menu to despawn the items when the scenario is complete.
Purchasing homes, business, and hideouts is done through our IC-realtors after filling out the appropriate application via the Calico Realtor Interest Form in Discord. Private sales are player-coordinated but still require a realtor’s knowledge so that we can update the database from the admin side. Please make a ticket before completing a private sale of your business.
After properties are purchased, the government takes taxes out of the ledger on the 15th of each month. If there is not enough money in the ledger, the property will be ‘repossessed’ and will be available for sale to another player. Make sure your money is in by the 14th!
